On April 1st, 2011 Chicago’s favorite independent producers Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival and the Double Door are hosting a New Orleans funk-fueled night at the Double Door featuring Chicago’s very own Lubriphonic. To make this night even more soulful we have former Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Festival performers, the electrifying rock n’ roll quartet GreenSugar, as well as the out-of-this-world hybrid live/electronic performer Elev8tor.
Digging deep, and giving it all in everything they do, Lubriphonic specialize in a unique offering of funky rock n’ roll. The septet’s tight and raw sound is immediately familiar, fusing the roots of soul with an explosive in-your-face delivery, and sensuous R&B dance music. Lubriphonic’s sound is full of precision orchestrations made up of blazing guitars, tight three piece horn lines, soulful songwriting, bluesy vocals, and the habit to cut the funk loose.
