Chromeo is Patrick Gemayel and David Macklovitch, boyhood friends who describe themselves as, “the only successful Arab/Jewish collaboration since the beginning of time.” And on Friday night of Halloween Weekend, this ethnically diverse duo brought their extra funky electro, (with a heavy emphasis on synth bass lines and whip-snapping beats) to Chicago’s Congress Theater for their biggest U.S. headlining gig to date.

On October 30th, 2009, Chromeo returned to the Midwest for the first time since stealing the show at Rothbury and to Chicago for the first time since Lolla ’08. They’ll were joined by the enigmatic duo Crystal Castles, German electro-tech producer Boys Noize, and a host of Chicago’s fastest ascending locals (E-Six & Roan, Loyal Divide, Kid Color, Rob Threezy, Hiroki)

The show will be graciously hosted by PaulinChicago, presented by Chicago independents React Presents, Silver Wrapper, Kingtello Presents, and Cold Grums, and boasted a mobile photo booth by RyanMitchellPhoto.com

Crystal Castles’ duo of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass continues to gain new fans with its eponymous debut album, and will be playing on the NME Stage this year at both the Leed’s and Reading Festivals across the pond. After turning the Perry’s Stage upside down a week ago at Lolla, Boys Noize’s Alex Ridha stands poised for the release of a yet-to-be-named full-length album this fall.
